Introduction to Brooke's Life

This is Me. 

This is a picture of my dog named Harley.

A fun fact about me is that I am a twin. She is to my right in this photo, we are fraternal twins. My sister's name is Alyssa. 

I play volleyball for Rhode Island College. But outside of college volleyball I do play for a few beach teams and in this picture you can see me serving on one of my beach teams.

I love to do fun/crazy things while I'm not at school or working. In this picture I went skydiving in Pepperell Massachusetts.

            After reading Unlearning the Myths That Blind Us, by Linda Christensen, she addresses how many women are angry that they have never seen an African American, Asian or a Hispanic person in a cartoon, especially in a Disney movie. Christensen states, “Women who aren’t white begin to feel left out and ugly because they never get to play the princess”. Also later on she states, “Happiness means getting a man, and transformed from wretched conditions can be achieved through consumption- in their case, through new clothes and a new hairstyle” . Both of these quotes mean a lot in a women’s eyes. No women should feel ugly or ashamed of themselves just because of their race or from what they see on cartoons or online that betray someone as beautiful.
